Executive Director

Christine Nolen

Christine was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan. She graduated from Albion College with a degree in English literature. She has been employed in non-profit management for 30 years. Her positions have included executive director, board chair, and consultant in the fields of healthcare, tourism promotion, and the arts.

Chris moved to Aspen/Snowmass in 1992 from Chicago, where she was executive vice president of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians. Prior to that appointment, she was associate membership director for the American Dental Association. She chaired the Chicago Society of Association Executives—its youngest board chair, at 34, in its history—and received its Management Excellence Award.

In Aspen, Chris has served as executive director of the Aspen/Snowmass Council for the Arts, marketing and development director of the Aspen Music Festival and School, and as president and CEO of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. She now operates her own firm, Christine Nolen Inc., specializing in non-profit communications. Her clients have included the Music Festival, where she directed its capital campaign; Aspen Philanthropist magazine, where she was editor in chief; and the Executive Service Corps, where she is currently serving as executive director.

She resides in Snowmass Village with her husband, John Quigley, and their 16-year-old son, Connor.
